 Minutes of Meeting
Held on Monday 10 th March 2014

1. Apologies

Steve Magrath was formally welcomed as rep for Skatepark.

2. Previous Minutes
These were signed as a true record.

3. Matters Arising
Bank Documents –
ongoing.  
Wall – AS has found a builder to quote to repair the wall (not rebuild) and is awaiting written confirmation.
Floor –  AS cleaned the floor today with buffer which was good but is very hard work.  He has found another product for Marina to try.
Website –  ongoing. AS has added a Paypal donate button and registered for  Giftaid.  Easyfundraising is up and running.
Fundraisers:
Murder Mystery 22/3/14
– SW reported that a meeting had been held to finalise catering arrangements and everything is in hand.
HURG – ongoing.
Insulation – awaiting updated quote from Warmspace to include upstairs.  SGC are happy for the surplus grant money to be spent on the insulation.
Youth Club – have paid for repair of broken light.
History Group/Ballet have resolved overlap problem.
PAYE -   BC is working on this.

4. Parish Council Report

HB reported that they now have the defibrillator but not the box.  NF/AS will site it.  Someone will come to give a presentation on its use at April PC meeting and a training session will be arranged.  HB also said that Ian Jones wants to cut back the brambles – this was agreed.  She asked that vegetation round Playground be cut back.

5. Play Area/Skatepark Report
Skatepark needs to be formally risk assessed.  Skatepark contractor is going out of business so 20 year warranty will not be valid.  John Day will fix gate spring.  CR/DA will do overnight treatment of algae on mat when evenings are lighter.  DA sorting bin rota – gloves in boiler room for this.  AS to give a Hall Key to SM.
AS
was given approval to buy a new bin for rec.  Cost approx  £190.

6. Grants Sub Committee Report
Western Power are offering grants for energy saving projects.  AS has compiled a
list of light bulbs we need which comes to £400.  KB will submit an application.
SH mentioned a possible grant to cover Skatepark Insurance - DA following up.

Wishlist
These are items which will be put on hold until funds are available:
Resurface Car Park;  New Kitchen; Canopy for Disabled Entrance; Stage Curtain Tabs; New Wall; Projector; PA System + Amp

7. Treasurer’s Report
BC
’s report was discussed at the meeting and is attached.  

8. Hall Bookings

LR has prepared a spreadsheet of bookings.

9. Emergency Lighting/Fire Bells/Extinguishers & Meter Readings
CR
carried out checks.  
CR did meter readings:  Electricity 268849;   Oil  28";   Water 1397-445

10. Correspondence
None.

Any Other Business
Date for Hall Spring Clean – Saturday 29/3/14 at 9.30am – as many helpers as possible please.

Hall Central Heating is only reaching 17C – Playgroup need it at least 18C.  AS has asked Steve Blakeney to look at it.

BC asked that Hall price increases be publicised.  Check if CR has put anything in Parish Mag.  

BC
asked if money from Hall Breakfast should be moved to Improvement Fund.  This was agreed.

AS to check bookings form on website as some people are having problems completing it.
I
MH remarked that the Hall Breakfast had been very successful and well supported and thanked Louise Roberts for her successful Raffle.  AS said we do not yet have a total of money raised but it should be £500-£600.

MH asked NF if he was happy for him to forward catalogues such as Screwfix to him, which he was.


11. Date of next meeting
The date of the next meeting will be Monday 14 th April at 7.45pm.

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 9.05pm.
