Minutes of Meeting
Held on Monday 13th August 2012

1. Apologies
Apologies were received from Louise Roberts, Angelo Sauro, Jane Stanbridge,
Kate Bashford, Bryan Robinson, Dave Anderson and Neil Fozard.
2. Previous Minutes
The Minutes of the previous meeting were signed as a true statement.
3. Matters Arising
Constitution Issues/Boundary – ongoing – meeting to be held Wednesday with Helen Black.
Car Park – Some patching has been done but a small bit has been missed. MB to follow up.
Skatepark – Sub committee meeting next week. Terms of reference to be discussed on Wednesday with Helen Black and committee will be updated at next meeting. FS to circulate revised Version. There are now 2 quotes for the work which may help keep price down.
Hall Website - AS and JS have restructured website. AS to update it.
Internet & Phone – ongoing.
Boiler – went out again so Steve Blakeney looking at it.
Cleaner – doing great job but concern was expressed that the varnish is peeling off the Hall floor. MB to follow up.
Lighting Bars – still two not sold. DA to be asked if he can get us a “cherry picker” to replace fluorescent tubes. Fittings for attaching ceiling fabric to be put up this week
Recycling Netting – ongoing.
Wishlist
These are items which will be put on hold until funds are available:
Resurface Car Park; New Kitchen; Bench for Playground; Stage Curtain Tabs
4. Treasurer’s Report
MB distributed the report.
5. Emergency Lighting/Fire Bells/Extinguishers & Meter Readings
CR carried out checks. Report attached.
6. Playground Check
CR’s report is attached.
7. Correspondence
Email from BR re Skatepark Terms of Reference – see above.
8. Bookings
Request from Frome Ukelele Club to hold Festival in May/June 2013 with overnight camping for up to 100 plus food. MB has checked with Roberts who don’t object. He suggested £200 Hall hire plus £5.00 per tent. Food extra – perhaps World Challenge may want to do it. We could do breakfasts.
MB has met with Bikers to discuss charges for their weekend at the end of October. Catering is sorted.
Razzle booked for 1/9/12 – bar required. FS to ask Jane Beeley if she wants help advertising this. Cricket Club 15/9; booking 22/9 no bar but glasses needed; 29/9 After School Club – possible bar.
CR will take meter readings before and after Show people come.
9. Any Other Business
There is graffiti on one of the Hall doors. NF to be asked if he can paint over it.
MB has had request to park a caravan – he asked for donation in parking box.
PS reported that another den has been found in the trees. Neil will screw down planks so they can’t be used. PS asked that corrugated iron be removed immediately after the Show as it blocks access for maintenance. PW to sort with Show Committee.
9. Date of next meeting
The date of the next meeting will be Monday 10th September at 7.45pm.
There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.35pm.
